Pokemon 20th Anniversary

During the years of 2012 to 2016, I was on the road to and through Nursing school. It was relentless and unforgiving. It was also not my passion or my intent to do so. A difficult patch in my life that eventually led me to knowing what I did not want to do. So, I left Nursing school and applied for Full Sail University's Game Art Program!

One of two illustrations I worked on in my time at Nursing school. This one was in celebration of Pokemon's 20th Anniversary. A franchise that has been with me since my early gaming days. To this day, I still look forward to Pokemon releases and enjoy soaking in the new lore that always comes around.

In celebration, I decided to go back and portray the original 4 versions of the game: Red, Blue (Green in Japan) and Yellow. I began experimenting with color and illustrated lighting here. (Not a very easy topic for me to tackle).

I think this was a great step into my future as an illustrator. Also my first confident step into a fully digital platform!
